Q. Merit badge counselor position not listed on unit roster or not in the MBC search results.
A. If you are looking for yourself as a merit badge counselor:
Under My Dashboard -> Administration -> My Account -> My Positions do you have Merit Badge Counselor? If so you are in Scoutbook as a merit badge counselor.
Please note that after the council uploads the list, the MBC position will not show on the unit roster, but should be visible by the MBC by clicking on My Account > My Positions
Note you can tell if the council has uploaded the MBC list by going to the Troop page and clicking on Merit Badge Counselor List. If the results of the search have a blue check mark next to the badges, the council has uploaded the list.
Also the MBC should be showing in the Merit Badge Counselor List when searched for (as long as they didn’t restrict their viewing and their YPT is up to date in Scoutbook.)
If your council uploads the list and the merit badge counselor does not show up on the list please contact your local council Scoutbook administrator for assistance.
If the council does not upload the merit badge counselor list to Scoutbook, you should contact your unit Scoutbook admin and have them add the merit badge counselor position to the leader (this capability is deactivated if the council uploads the list.)
